Lowry Outlet
MEASURING SHOPPERS
Lowry Outlet is an impressive redevelopment which allowed the centre to incorporate Manchester’s new water front. With landscaped tree-lined walk ways it has created the perfect setting in the heart of Manchester. The centre has between 15,000 and 20,000 visitors per day, with outlet stores including Antler, M & S Outlet and Next Outlet, as well as restaurants such as Pizza Express, Café Rouge Bella Italia, Nando’s and The Real China. Lowry Outlet is also home to VUE cinema, an impressive multi storey car park and Virgin Active Health Club.
The Requirements
The Outlet wanted to attract new audiences and encourage more frequent visitors from the local and wider community. Hosting events such as monthly markets and Christmas markets. Thus increasing movement around the centre a clear aim of the redevelopment.
“Our innovative approach means our retail schemes are twice the size of traditional outlets, with leisure and food and beverage added to the outlet core.”
The Solution
The Discreet camera used in the CountWise solution gave a similar yet effective system to that used at Gloucester Quays. Using a unique video imagining shape–recognition technology in the I-Count system. The management can now get a true reflection on the Outlet’s foot traffic in all areas including the Car park entrances, food hall and pedestrian walk ways.

The Data collated will give a true indication of the weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual figures.
